Cookie Policy

Last updated 25 July 2026

No cookie is set on this site until you choose one. If you decline, the site works exactly as it does if you accept. Nothing on this site is gated behind consent.

What a cookie is here

A small file a website asks your browser to keep. This site can use three kinds, and only the first is set without asking.

1. Strictly necessary

Two items, and neither is technically a cookie. Both are in local storage and neither is transmitted anywhere.

  • w3cp.consent - your consent choice, so we do not ask again on every page. No consent is required to remember that you declined consent.
  • w3cp.age - that you have answered the first-arrival age notice, so you are not asked twice. The same flag is used on every page including The Simulator.

The Simulator's game state is stored on the same basis. Your chips, cash, marker, hand counts, table and settings are strictly necessary in the ordinary meaning of the phrase: they are what you asked for. Without them The Simulator cannot deal you a second hand. None of it is transmitted, none of it identifies you, and it is not used for any purpose other than running the thing you opened.

2. Analytics - only if you accept

Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<id> to count visitors and distinguish repeat visits. They expire after two years. They tell us which pages are read, not who read them.

3. Advertising - not in use

None are set today. If advertising is ever introduced on The Simulator, advertising cookies will be set only for visitors who have specifically accepted them, this page will be updated first, and the banner will ask again rather than relying on consent given for analytics.

What The Simulator stores

Your chips, cash, marker, hand counts, table and settings, in your browser's local storage. Not cookies, never transmitted, and cleared by clearing your browser data or by using RESET.

Changing your mind

Use the cookie settings link in the footer at any time. Withdrawing consent is one click, the same as giving it, and takes effect immediately.

Doing it in your browser instead

Every major browser can block or delete cookies, and most offer a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

We honour Global Privacy Control everywhere, not only where a law requires it, and we treat a Do Not Track header exactly the same way. If either signal is set, analytics are treated as declined and the banner does not ask. That is what the code actually does, and this paragraph used to promise less than the code delivers.

What changed in this version

25 July 2026 - added the age-gate flag to the strictly necessary list and named both flags; stated that The Simulator's game state is held on the strictly-necessary basis and why; corrected the Global Privacy Control wording to match the code, which honours GPC unconditionally and treats Do Not Track identically; and removed an unverified trademark registrant.
